Rania obtained a LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University and a Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. She also holds a Master’s degree in International and Comparative Law from Indiana University.

Rania primarily focusses on international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration and inter-state arbitration where she serves as an arbitrator and appears as counsel. Rania has been involved in disputes pertaining to various industry sectors, such as the hospitality and construction sectors, and governed by a range of applicable laws. In doing so, Rania handles large and complex arbitration disputes between corporations, investors, and state-owned entities.

Rania advises clients on all matters relating to their dispute from initiation until the issuance of an award. In doing so, Rania assists clients in reaching favourable outcomes, either through settlement negotiations, mediation, or arbitration.

Prior joining the firm, Rania was an Arbitration Attorney at a top tier arbitration law firm in Cairo where she was regularly involved in international disputes from their inception until the rendering of an award.

Rania’s publications and academic contributions in the field of international arbitration are also noteworthy. Rania has co-authored a monograph entitled “International Construction Contracts Arbitration in the MENA Region”, published by Lambert in 2015, and forwarded by Professor Gary Born. Rania has also contributed to drafting, compiling and assimilating materials for a number of draft books on Egyptian, Saudi, Qatari, Omani, and Syrian arbitration laws. She also took part in the Arabic translation of the ICC Rules of Arbitration (2012) and the ICC Rules of Mediation published on the ICC website. Finally, Rania has conducted extensive research in relation to the role of national courts in the enforcement of interim measures in international commercial arbitration.

She is an admitted member of the Egyptian Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. Her working languages are Arabic, English and French.
